In November-December 2020, in 3 municipalities of Kara- Suu district such as Saray, Nariman and Toloikon of Osh oblast 6 Self-Help Groups were formed within the framework of the project of WPU Erayim ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Traditional and Modern Approaches to Prevent the Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’ implemented with the support of the German international organization ‘Bread for the World’.

The coordinator of the project for Self-Help Groups in Osh oblast Narynkul Dyushenalieva came to the meeting with the newly formed SHGs. She highlighted the history of the formation of Self-Help Groups in these municipalities and gave detailed information about the SHG to the participants. Ikram Israilov, the project coordinator for the Osh oblast, spoke about the activities of the organization in creating associations of Self-Help Groups within the framework of the project in this oblast and the fulfilment of the project requirements. As well as project coaches Erlan Davlatov and Soadat Usmanova made reports on the activities of 3 Associations of Self-Help Groups formed of 50 Self-Help Groups of Shark, Mady and Kyzyl-Kyshtak municipalities.

During this event, experienced SHG coordinator Narynkul Dyushenalieva and coaches Erlan Davlatov and Soadat Usmanova provided information on the trainings conducted within the project. They identified the needs of the newly formed groups together. At the end of the meeting, the problems of pure drinking water, roads and lighting of new streets, kindergartens and unemployment in municipalities were discussed.

The event was attended by 48 members of the newly formed Self-Help Groups and the entire working staff of WPU Erayim in Osh oblast.
