Capacity-building activities have started for 8 Self-Help Groups that will become part of the SHGs Associations in Shark, Mady and Kyzyl-Kyshtak rural districts of Kara-Suu district.

In February this year, members of self-help groups were trained on the "Concept of the SHGs Association". The training was conducted within the framework of the WPU Erayim project ‘The Introduction of a Combination of Modern and Traditional Approaches to Prevent the Conflict in the South of Kyrgyzstan’, supported by the German organization Bread for the World. The training was conducted by an experienced trainer and the project expert for SHGs Abdylas Koshumbaev. A total of 70 people (66 women and 4 men) participated in the training.

It should be remembered that during the previous phases of the project in the project districts, SHG Associations "Kurmanjan Datka", "Shark" and "Kerme-Too" were established, the capacity of which was improved through counselling and useful training courses.

The geography of the project was expanded and the training "Activities of SHG in 5 directions" was conducted for 6 newly established self-help groups in Toleiken, Nariman and Kashkar-Kyshtak rural districts. The purpose of the training was to share effective experiences and choose the right direction for the group's activities based on the SHGs Concept.
